Drawing Analogies by Systematic Spatial Inferencing for Manufactured Components
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we describe systematic analogical reasoning using a qualitative spatial model for manufactured components which incorporates both features and mathematical spatial relationships between features [7]. Solving this problem will be of benefit to manufacturing planning. We will discuss the definition and formulation of these computations] inferencing tasks, as well as their properties. The utility of these computational inferences within the manufacturing domain is shown.

Saliency Cognition of Urban Monuments Based on Verbal Descriptions of Mental-Spatial Representations (Case Study: Urban Monuments in Qazvin)
Urban monuments encompass a wide range of architectural works either intentionally or unintentionally. These works are often salient due to their inherently explicit or hidden components and qualities in the urban context. Therefore, they affect the mental-spatial representations of the environment and make the city legible. However, the ambiguity of effective components often complicates their...

Effective knowledge management (KM) is essential to almost any organization. Regardless of its size or subject matter, an organization should use the knowledge it possesses in the most effective way possible. But the implementation of KM is still challenging. One of the solutions for this challenge which mentioned in KM literature, is knowledge management roadmapping. Roadmaps provide a graphic...
متن کاملInference processes in causal analogies
In recent papers, Lee & Holyoak (2007, 2008a, 2008b) argue that extant models of analogy fail to explain how people draw inferences from causal analogies. In the current research, we argue that structure-mapping theory sufficiently explains the analogical inferences drawn from these causal analogies, and that, contrary to L&H‘s claims, the effect inference can indeed be evaluated by a post-anal...
متن کاملL2 Learners’ Lexical Inferencing: Perceptual Learning Style Preferences, Strategy Use, Density of Text, and Parts of Speech as Possible Predictors
This study was intended first to categorize the L2 learners in terms of their learning style preferences and second to investigate if their learning preferences are related to lexical inferencing. Moreover, strategies used for lexical inferencing and text related issues of text density and parts of speech were studied to determine their moderating effects and the best predictors of lexical infe...
متن کاملJoint Learning of Entity and Type Embeddings for Analogical Reasoning with Entities
Two situations can be considered analogous if they share a common pattern. Analogical reasoning is the task of finding analogies and inferencing missing terms in them. Since natural language is ambiguous, as the same word can refer to different entities, the use of disambiguated entities from Knowledge Graphs for analogical reasoning might bring to better results. Also, entities have types, i.e...
